Situation

Three of our volunteer responders were on a team car shift when they were dispatched by the North West Ambulance Service Complex Incident Hut to the reports of an adult male who had driven onto a petrol station forecourt, dowsed himself in petrol and set light to himself.

Our Critical Care Team arrived and worked alongside colleagues from NWAS, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue and Greater Manchester Police. We

• Performed a Pre-hospital Emergency Anaesthetic.
• Transported the pateint to a specialist burns centre.
